Nice Story

A very tired traveler came to the banks of a river.

There was no bridge by which he could cross. It was winter, and the surface of the river was covered with ice. It was getting dark, and he wanted to reach the other side while there was enough light to see. He debated about whether or not the ice would bear his weight.

Finally, after much hesitation and fear, he got down on his knees and began very cautiously to creep across the surface of the ice. He hoped that by disturbing the weight of his body, the ice would be less apt to break under the load.

After he made his slow and painful journey about halfway across the river, he suddenly heard the sound of singing behind him. Out of the dusk, there came a 4-horse load of coal driven by a man singing merrily as he went to his carefree way. Here was the traveler, fearfully inching his way on his hands and knees. And there, as if whisked along by the winter's wind, went the driver, his horses, his sled, and the heavy load of coal over the same river!

The above story illustrates how many of us go through life.:

Some stand on the bank of decisions unable to make up their minds about the course to take. Others stand on the banks trying to muster enough courage to cross over to the other side of the task or problem encountered.

On the other hand, some individuals crawl and creep through life for fear of thin ice.

Their faith is not strong enough to hold them up. Still there are those who whisked along whistling as they go. Their faith is UNSHAKABLE.

When we face the river of difficulties, we do not have to fear, nor do we creep through life. God has promised to help, and with God's help we can merrily make our way to the other side safely.

I STILL LOVE YOU

I dont know what to write,
but all I wana say
I am missing you today...
I know you too are
you are close to me
so close
but yet so far..
thinking of you,
once again
tears roll down my cheeks
I am missing you
today I wanted to meet
but no
I will not return
this pain is mine
and forever I'll burn..
but still weeping inside silently
keeping away from this world
I want to say to wish you
the best in ur life...
I know
GOD has been so harsh to me..
he gave me you...
and then took u away...
no I dont complain even to you..
I just wanted to say
"I STILL LOVE YOU"

You Are Wonderful . . .

The following story captured our heart. It happened several years ago in the Paris opera house. A famous singer had been contracted to sing, and ticket sales werebooming. In fact, the night of the concert found the house packed and every ticket sold.

The feeling of anticipation and excitement was in the air as thehouse manager took the stage and said, Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your enthusiastic support. I am afraid that due to illness, the man whom you've all come to hear will not be performing tonight.

However, we have found a suitable substitute we hope will provide you with comparable entertainment. The crowd groaned in disappointmentand failed to hear the announcer mention the stand-in's name. The environment turned from excitement to frustration.

The stand-in performer gave the performance everything he had. When he had finished, there was nothing but an uncomfortable silence. No one applauded. Suddenly, from the balcony, a little boy stood up and shouted,
Daddy, I think you are wonderful!!!!!!

The crowd broke into thunderous applause.

We all need people in our Lives who are willing to stand up once in a while and say, I think you are wonderful. And at times others are expecting this from you. Are you telling them how wonderful they are??????????

Say it now and make "someone's day more pleasant.

Love and Friendship

Don't you understand my pain in love,is it my fault or your fault,
I die thinking of you everyday.
i will wait my next Life
i will Keep on Fighting for my LOVE...

How To Handle unexpected questions (Swami Vivekananda)

Perception

In Washington DC, at a Metro Station, on a cold January morning in 2007, this man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes.  During that time, approximately 2,000 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.  After about 3 minutes, a middle-aged man noticed that there was a musician playing.  He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds, and then he hurried on to meet his schedule.

About 4 minutes later:

The violinist received his first dollar.  A woman threw money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.

At 6 minutes:

A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.

At 10 minutes:

A 3-year old boy stopped, but his mother tugged him along hurriedly.  The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head the whole time.  This action was repeated by several other children, but every parent - without exception - forced their children to move on quickly.

At 45 minutes:

The musician played continuously.  Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while.  About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace.  The man collected a total of $32.

After 1 hour:

He finished playing and silence took over.  No one noticed and no one applauded.  There was no recognition at all.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world.  He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a Stradivarius violin worth $3.5 million dollars.  Two days before, Joshua Bell sold-out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100 each to sit and listen to him play the same music.

This is a true story.  Joshua Bell, playing incognito in the DC Metro Station, was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people's priorities.

This experiment raised several questions:

*In a common-place environment, at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty?

*If so, do we stop to appreciate it?

*Do we recognise talent in an unexpected context?

One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this:

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made . . .

How many other things are we missing as we rush through life?

Enjoy the coffee.

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university lecturer. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said: "If you noticed, all the nice-looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other's cups."

"Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change." "Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it."

So folks, don't let the cups drive you...enjoy the coffee instead.

"GOD!!!! ONE MORE CHANCE PLEASE!!!!"

It's another morning....  I have to go to office.

WHAT???? This is me!!! I shouted seeing my picture in the newspaper. But what the HELL is it doing in the obituary column??

Strange.

One sec... Let me think, last night when I went to bed I had severe pain in my chest, but I don't remember anything after that, I think I had sound sleep.

Its morning now, oh... It's already 10:00 AM, where is my coffee? I will be late for office and my boss will get a chance to shout at me.

Where is everyone? I screamed.

"I think there is a crowd outside my room, let me check." I said to myself.

So many people... Not all of them are crying. But why are some of them crying.

WHAT IS THIS??? I'm lying there on a bed in the drawing room!!!!

"I AM HERE" . I shouted!!! No one listened.
"LOOK I AM NOT DEAD". I screamed once again!!! No one was interested in me.
They were all looking at me lying on the bed.

I went back to my bed room.

"Am I dead??"  I asked myself.

Where are my wife, my children, my mom-dad, my friends?

I found them in the next room, all of them were crying. Still trying to console each other.

My wife was crying. She was really looking sad.
My little kid was not sure what happened, but he was crying just coz his mom was sad.

How can I go without telling my kid that I really love him, I really do care for him....??
How can I go without telling my wife that she is really the most beautiful and the most caring wife in this world..??
How can I go without telling my parents that I am what I am just because of them...??
How can I go without telling my friends that without them, perhaps I would have
Done wrong things in life- thanks for being there always
When I needed them. And sorry for not being there when they really needed me..

I can see a person standing in the corner and trying to hide his tears. Oh, he was once my best friend, but a small misunderstanding made us part, and we both never let go off our egos....

I went there.. And offered him my hand, "Dear friend. I just want to say sorry for everything, we are still good friends, please forgive me."

No response from other side, what the hell?? He is still preserving his ego. I am saying sorry, even then!!! I really don't care for such people.

But one sec.. It seems he is not able to see me!!!! He did not see my extended hand.
My goodness.  AM I REALLY DEAD???

I just sat down next to MYSELF; I also felt like crying.

"OH GOD!!!! PLEASE GIVE ME FEW MORE DAYS."
I just want to tell my wife, my parents, my kid and my friends how much I love them.

My wife entered the room, she looks beautiful.
"YOU'R BEAUTIFUL" I shouted.
She didn't hear my words, in fact she has never heard these words from me, coz I have never told her.

"GOD!!!!" I screamed. a little more time plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.. I cried.

One more chance please-to hug my child, to make my mom smile.. just once, to make my dad feel proud of me at least for a moment..., to say sorry to my friends for everything I have not told and done for them-inspite of that for still being there for me..

Then I looked up and cried!!!!

I shouted..

"GOD!!!! ONE MORE CHANCE PLEASE!!!!"

"You shouted in your sleep," said my wife as she gently woke me up. "Did you have a nightmare?"

I was sleeping..??!!!
Oh that was just a dream..??!!

My wife was there. She could hear me.
This was the happiest moment in my life!!
I hugged her and whispered.. "U R THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND CARING WIFE IN
THIS UNIVERSE.. I REALLY LOVE U DEAR"

I just couldn't understand that in spite of a smile on her face she had tears in her eyes...

I was so HAPPY!!!!!

"THANK YOU GOD FOR GIVING ME ANOTHER CHANCE!!!"

It's not late.. Forget your egos, forget all that has happened....., and just express your love to others.... Be friendly..... Keep smiling and be happy for ever.

Peace of mind

Once Buddha was walking from one town to another town with a few of his followers. This was in the initial days. While they were travelling, they happened to pass a lake. They stopped there and Buddha told one of his disciples, “I am thirsty. Do get me some water from that lake there.”

The disciple walked up to the lake. When he reached it, he noticed that some people were washing clothes in the water and, right at that moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy, very turbid. The disciple thought, “How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink!” So he came back and told Buddha, “The water in there is very muddy. I don’t think it is fit to drink.”
After about half an hour, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back to the lake and get him some water to drink. The disciple obediently went back to the lake. This time he found that the lake had absolutely clear water in it. The mud had settled down and the water above it looked fit to be had. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to Buddha.

Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said, “See what you did to make the water clean. You let it be ... and the mud settled down on its own – and you got clear water... Your mind is also like that. When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. You don’t have to put in any effort to calm it down. It will happen. It is effortless.”

What did Buddha emphasize here? He said, “It is effortless.” Having 'peace of mind' is not a strenuous job; it is an effortless process. When there is peace inside you, that peace permeates to the outside. It spreads around you and in the environment, such that people around start feeling that peace and grace

My Love For U

f.gift2.JPG
My love for you is like a red, red rose,
It started as a seed but it’s grown and grown.
Its roots reach deep down inside of my chest,
f.gift.bmp
And it grows even more with each passing breath.
The delicate petals lay beautiful and pure,
All the doubts that I’ve had you have since cured.

For all the thorns that this proud rose bears,
They are all softened by the thought of your care.
Soon the rose grows old and withers and dies,
But the love that helped grow it will last for all time.

A Lovely Lesson

There was once a lonely girl who longed desperately for love. One day while she was walking in the woods she found two starving song birds. She took them home and put them in a small glided cage. She nurtured them with love and the birds grew strong. Every morning they greeted her with a marvelous song. The girl felt great love for the birds. She wanted their singing to last forever.

One day the girl left the door to the cage open. The larger and stronger of the two birds flew from the cage. The girl watched anxiously as he circled high above her. She was so frightened that he would fly away and she would never see him again that as he flew close, she grasped at him wildly. She caught him in her fist. She clutched him tightly within her hand. Her heart gladdened at her success in capturing him. Suddenly she felt the bird go limp. She opened her hand stared in horror at the dead bird. Her desperate clutching love had killed him.

She noticed the other bird teetering on the edge of the cage. She could feel his great need for freedom. His need to soar into the clear, blue sky. She lifted him from the cage and tossed him softly into the air. The bird circled once, twice, three times.

The girl watched delighted at the bird's enjoyment. Her heart was no longer concerned with her loss. She wanted the bird to be happy. Suddenly the bird flew closer and landed softly on her shoulder. It sang the sweetest melody, she had ever heard.

-This is a very rare but very effective human trait … while the most common human trait is to look for chances to humiliate/insult someone else or be neutral when someone makes mistake & --let him/her go through the embarrassment … but it takes presence of mind, uncommon courtesy to follow someone else’s mistake in order to guard them from embarrassment!! -

TOO SWEET FOR WORDS!!!-

A six-year-old boy told his father he wanted to marry the little girl across the street. -The father-, being modern and well-schooled in handling children, hid his smile behind.-

-'That's a serious step-,' he said.- 'Have you thought it out completely?'-

-'Yes,' his young son answered. '-We can spend one week in my room and- the next in hers. It's right -across the street, so I can run home if I get scared of the dark.'
'How about transportation? ' the father asked.
-

-'I have my wagon, -and we both -have our tricycles,' the little boy answered. -The boy had an answer to every question the father raised.-

-Finally, in exasperation, his dad asked, '-What about babies? When you're-
married, you're liable to have babies, you know.' -

-'We've thought about that, too,' the little boy replied. 'We're not going to have babies. Every time she lays an egg, I'm going to step on it!' -

Nice Message.... Dont Miss IT

-A worried woman went to her gynaecologist and said:-

  - 'Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My
-baby is not even 1 yr. old and I'm pregnant again. -I don't want kids
-so close together.'-

  - So the doctor said: 'Ok -and what do you want me to do?'-

-  She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your
help with this.'-

-  The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to
the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem.  It's
less dangerous for you too.'-

-She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.-

-  Then he continued: '-You see, in order for you not to have to take-
-care of 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms.--
-This way, you could rest some before the other one is born.  If we're-
-going to kill one of them, -it doesn't matter which one it is. There-
-would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.-
-
-  The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a
crime to kill a child!-
'I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be ok with it, so-
I thought maybe that was the best solution.  The doctor smiled,-
realizing that he had made his point.-
-
-  He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child-
-that's already been born and one that's still in the womb. The crime-
-is the same!-

  - If you agree, please forward. Together we can help save precious lives!-

Sand and Stone -- Nice Story

-A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert.- During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. -The one who got slapped was hurt, -but -without saying anything, wrote in the sand: "-TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE." -
-They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one, who had been slapped, got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After the friend- -recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: "-TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE." -
-The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him-, "-After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?" -
-The other friend replied:- "When someone hurts us-, we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But-, when someone does something good for us,- we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it." -
